Merit badges indicate a mastery of particular Scouting skills.

The earning of these badges help Scouts to increase their skills in areas of personal interest.

There are 121 merit badges available for Scouts to earn.

A Scout must earn 21 badges to qualify for Eagle Scout.

Of these 21 badges, there are 12 that are identified as required badges:

The remaining 9 badges can be chosen from the remaining 100 available merit badges.

With over 120 Merit Badges to choose from EVERY Scout will find some that interest them.
